Important cross country information for summer/fall 2008

The cross country summer camp will take place from June 25-29 at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C. Download the information flyer here, and the Southern Wesleyan health form here. The Athlete/Parent contract must also be turned in before camp.

Come and run the Celebrate America 5K on May 26th at 7:30 am. The race starts at Mansell Crossing AMC and loops down Northpoint, Haynes Bridge and Mansell. Please see the attached flier for more information. This is a pretty fast course and will give you a baseline time before you start your summer training! 

Summer running will start on May 27th! Please stay tuned for further details. Our registration will be held in August right after school starts. If you plan on running with the team this summer the coaches would like a current physical on file. The physical forms can be downloaded from our website www.chsrunning.org from the links section.

There will be a meeting on Monday May 19th at 7 pm in the Centennial Cafeteria for students interested in joining the cross country team. Returning runners do not need to attend. If you have friends who are interested in running please let them know about the meeting!

Last year several parents expressed an interest in purchasing cross country T shirts for themselves. I’m taking a survey to see how many people are interested. The T shirts would be the same as the runners’ ones but would have “cross country support crew” or something like that on the back instead of the quote. It would help us recognize each other as Centennial parents at the meets. Please let me know if you are interested and what size you would need. They will cost about $10 each. We would plan on ordering them in time to distribute at the registration picnic in August.
