Track teams perform well at region
4x100-meter relay team qualifies for state; Thompson and Jenkins excel in 100 meters
Centennial's boys varsity & J.V. did a great job at region over the
weekend. The 4x100 team comprised of Diante Thompson, Jerry Smith,
Bogere Sanders and Martin Jenkins qualified for the state meet and also
broke the school record with a second place finish at 42.76 sec. The
State Meet will take place May 8-10 in Jefferson, Georgia. Here are some
highlights of this weekends meet:
Varsity
Diante Thompson broke the school 100m record Friday night with a time of 11.09, qualifying for the finals of the 100m race.
On Saturday, Martin Jenkins finished 3rd in the 100m finals with a time
of 11.06, breaking the school record set by Diante Thompson Friday
night.
Paul Clark ended his stellar career as a Knight finishing 4th in the
pole vaulting competition. Paul still holds the school record at 13'1".
Daniel Munoz finished 3rd in the 800m race with a personal best of 1:59.

Antonio Morgan- 3rd in the 100m & 6th in Long Jump
Ben Carpenter- 4th in High Jump & 5th in 100m
Zack Padget- 5th in Discus and Shot Put
Darius Carter- 4th in Shot Put
Michael Denney- 4th in Pole Vault
Brent Jaworski- 5th in Triple Jump
OUR BANQUET WILL BE HELD AT THE ROSWELL COUNTRY CLUB ON MAY13TH @ 6:30.
