SWIM TEAMS HEADED TO STATE AFTER SUCCESSFUL METRO TOURNAMENT
Fifty teams competed in the 39th Metro Atlanta Swimming & Diving Championships held at Westminster on January 31. The Lady Knights finished second to Marist. Top finisher for the boys team was Junior Grant Smith, placing 2nd in the 200 Free and 4th in the 500 Free. The girls team had first place finishes by Senior Hannah Dahm, Junior Julia Treible, Senior Kristen Redmond, and Sophomore Liz Saint in the 200 Medley Relay, Julia Treible in the 200 IM and 100 Breast stroke, Kristen Redmond in the 100 Fly and 100 Free, and Liz Saint, Freshman Caitlin Bell, Julia Treible and Kristen Redmond in the 400 Free Relay. The 2009 state teams are as follows:
Girls: Chelsea Almand, Caitlin Bell, Chelsea Bucci, Christina Coloma, Hannah Dahm, Sara Dube, Leslie Hackler, Natalie Lembeck, Kristen Redmond, Sara Redmond, Anna Saffer, Liz Saint, Keller Torrey, Julia Treible, Lida Walsh, and Taylor Watts
Boys: Connor Blair, Benjamin Buzeta, Nick Cassidy, Cajer Gong, Sean Hall, Kyle Kipping, Alex Lembeck, Kenny Lombard, Blaine Smith, Grant Smith, Marcus VanderHoek, and Michael Zeitz
Centennial will compete in the State Championship Meet on February 12 & 14th at Westminster.
